The 47" Tall Floor Mount Newel Post has a 3-7/8" welded bottom flange and it can be mounted on a stair tread, cap, landing or balcony. It is taller than average (47-1/4") to accommodate the change in rise between the first run and the second run of the staircase.

Posts are supplied with an open top for you to add the  required for your project.

Caution: It is critical that the newel is attached securely in order for the staircase to comply with local building codes.
